“Free” is quite possibly the best word in a Girl Scout Leader’s vocabulary, am I right? We love to hear the word “free” when it comes to Girl Scout stuff because we are always working on a budget. In the spirit of Girl Scout Leader help, this post is all about the free stuff there is available to leaders.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, there are several free patch programs to help Girl Scout Leaders get some free patches for your girls (this post has been updated with 2 new patch programs). Some of these programs do require you pay shipping and handling to receive patches, but they’re still worth looking into. I’ve also taken some time to compile a lot of free journey resources to help Girl Scout Leaders complete journeys with their troops – many of them in a day or a weekend. However, we want more, don’t we? There’s a LOT more we can get for free as Girl Scout Leaders!
First of all, let’s not forget our own store. Shop Spaz offers several Free Scrapbooking Sets and tons of Free
Printable Certificates in our store. Scrapbooking sets are all high resolution and can be used to digitally scrapbook your Girl Scout year and then print the completed pages for your girls. It’s a lot less expensive to digitally scrapbook than to purchase scrapbooking supplies – especially when these digital scrapbooking sets are free!
Our free printable certificates are great for bridging, cookie sales, investiture ceremonies and more. Is there a certificate you need that you can’t find here or anywhere else? Comment here and I’ll add it to the collection as quickly as I can. I get my best ideas from fellow Girl Scout Leaders!
SWAPS4Free is an amazing resource for SWAPS. You’ll have to supply your own safety pins and some supplies to complete the SWAPS, but Christina has oh-so generously provided a ton of free printable resources and a lot of great tips for making SWAPS on her site.
Have you checked out Jen at i am Girl Scouts? Her freebies page has a Parent Handbook, an adorable Troop Calendar with matching Badge Tracker, Promise and Law Printables, and Troop Snack Calendar as well as guide to completing the aMUSE Journey in one day.
Making Friends has some great Free Printables available – including paper dolls, coloring pages, recipes, and word puzzles.
Mrs. Marshall’s site, The Resourceful Room offers this free Girl Scout Binder Set. It is, sadly, not updated for the current year – but much of it is still useful and the graphics are simply adorable.
Christine at So Domestically Challenged offers 5 Girl Scout Meeting Planner Printables that are sure to help keep you organized for the upcoming troop year.
Fashionable Moms offers a whole bunch of free printables for Girl Scouts from bridging certificates to cookie thank you labels to adorable printables for your Daisies when they earn their petals. Jamie offers so many cute printables, I just can’t mention them all. You’ll have to go check them out!
If you’re using Little Brownie Bakers for cookie sales, download this Free Cookie Booth Tally Sheet from Max and Otis Designs.
Pickles & Bacon has created a couple of freebies for you! One is a printable Girl Scout goal thermometer and the other is a Girl Scout themed blank ledger that you can edit to use for a multitude of things – attendance, badge tracking, you name it!
Do you have a Silhouette machine (I don’t, but now I want one!), The Kim Six Fix has shared these adorable trefoil tags she used to attach to beautiful Christmas ornaments (tutorial for the ornaments is at the link). These would make a great service project around the holidays.
Not just for Girl Scouts, but The Mailbox has a lot of great printable worksheets for free that can be used in your meetings and to supplement badges. Check them out and see what you can find that might go along with something your troop is working on.
Working on your Geocaching badge? It’s A Yummy Life has shared her free printable Geocaching Kit for Girl Scouts here. It’s so cute and perfect for creating a geocache with your troop.
Snugglebug University has shared this printable Kaper Chart (and bookmark) that your girls can color and make their own. I really loved this Kaper Chart idea. All you need is some art supplies and clothespins and your girls will be thrilled they got to create their own chart!
Here’s a really cute Free Candy Bar Wrapper for girls that are bridging from Cadettes to Seniors. Just print and wrap it around a 3 Muskateers bar and give a sweet treat to your new Girl Scout Seniors.
Get S’Moore has some adorable Thank You Cards for handing out with cookies. These cards are a great to get repeat customers who run out of cookies before the sale is over.
I will certainly keep adding to this post as I come across other great Girl Scout Leader Help Freebies, so keep checking back!
